All Clear

Alex had his 6 week post op appt this past Thursday. He is all healed, everything looks good and he has the all clear to resume normal activities! He has already been on his bike twice at school and is beginning to roll around on the floor here at home. He also managed to get out of bed for the first time this morning with his knee braces on. He is determined!!

Physical Therapy will start on Thursday March 15th. He will be going twice a week for a total of 2 hours. I am excited to see what he will be able to do once he figures out how to move his left leg again.

School has been going good. I was surprised at how well he did his first week back. He was able to stay all day. The first week back I drove him to and from school, but this past week I started putting him on the bus again and he did really well. He is adjusting to being back with his friends and getting back into the groove. He is pretty tired in the evenings, but that is to be expected.

He goes back in three months for another X-Ray and follow up with Dr. Zaltz. He will have his plate and screws removed in the fall.

Thanks again to everyone who supported us through this journey. Whether it was phone calls, texts, meals, visits or gift cards for meals. It means to much to us!! It made all of this so much easier to get through. The time went fast and we are so thankful that there were no complications, no infections and that Alex healed so well.

We have made it through Phase 1 and 2 of this journey. Phase 3 will start next week when he begins his therapy. We hope for a smooth transition and incredible results.
