First Snow - 12.11.16

Today we had our first snowfall of the season! Actually, it was a snowstorm and it is still coming down out there. The boys were happy to play in it but even happier to have a snow day tomorrow!

Evan's first time out was before 10am

Alex loved getting pulled on the sled...we need a bigger one!

Santa House - December 10, 2016

Yesterday we drove to Midland, MI with our friends to go visit The Santa House for the second year in a row. It has become a nice little tradition with my friend Rachel and her kids. Rachel and I met in first grade and our boys are now in first grade. We are very fortunate to have such a long lasting friendship and now we get to see our children form one as well.

It was a cold day and the Santa House is small, so they only let so many people in at a time so it doesn't get too crowded. We stood for at least 30 minutes before we got inside - the warmth never felt so good! The line moved fast once we were in. The kids all got to see Santa and we even got a picture of the four of them together with Santa this year. Not only is this event free, but you get to take your own photos and take a free train ride after as well.

So, that's what we did. We piled in the train and took a ride around downtown Midland. From there we headed to Pizza Sam's for lunch (also part of the tradition) and Rachel's parents took the kids to Burger King to play for a bit so we could make a couple of kid free stops.

Time is going fast and the kids are growing up before our eyes. We don't have many of these trips left before the kids won't want to go anymore, but as long as they do, I think we will keep the tradition going. Here are some photos from our trip.
