A few weeks ago a flyer came home from school about joining the local cub scout pack. Evan was instantly excited and wanted to go, so he and Eric attended the meeting. We signed him up that night and had our first event on Saturday.
I have been wanting to get Evan involved in something, but I just didn't know what. I thought about baseball, but he is too young and would still have to play T-ball. I offered swimming lessons but he didn't seem to keen on that, and then the Cub Scouts came up. Now, he is officially a Tiger Cub!
This may be right up his alley. He loves to be outside, he loves to build things and it already seems like a great group of boys that I think he will have a lot of fun with!
The event on Saturday was actually the end of the year Picnic that included a box car race and a space derby competition. It was a beautiful day for a picnic and the best part is that all of the meetings and this event are at a Church that is across from our neighborhood!
Although Evan didn't win the race or the space derby, he had fun and so did we! The pack that he belongs to is a family pack, so a lot of the events are family oriented which is great for us! Alex can tag along to! I feel good that Evan found something that is just for him. I hope this is something he will learn to love and enjoy!
