Banbury Horse Show

On Saturday, Alex participated in a Horse Show at Banbury Cross where he rides on Wednesday nights. Each rider is given a time slot and they ride in the ring with a few other riders. After their session, they are presented with a ribbon and a trophy. The instructors talk about each of the children and their horse and what they have accomplished since being in the program.

Alex started riding two years ago and when he began riding, he couldn't hold himself up very well and struggled to hold on which created a lot of work for his side walkers. He wouldn't participate much in the games or vocalize much.

All of that has changed and he has done a complete 360. He holds on,he vocalizes to his instructor when it is time to "walk on", he sits on his own and will participate in the games (especially when he gets to put something in a bucket).

The program is wonderful, the instructors are wonderful and the other riders are like family.

Alex's Grandma and Grandpa came out to see him ride for the first time and I could see how proud they were. He would get so excited every time the crowd would applaud. It was sweet.
