September Adventures

We started out the month of September by going to a Detroit Tigers Game on September 1st. I purchased the tickets for Eric for Father's Day. It was a Friday night game so that meant Fireworks after the game - the boys really enjoyed them! The game itself was not very good seeing that the Tigers lost 10-0 but we still had a nice night out as a family! Evan got a bag of cotton candy during the game and as he went in for a piece, Alex ripped it right out of his hand and shoved it in his mouth! It was the highlight of the game!

Tuesday September 5th was Alex and Evan's first day of 2nd grade! They are in the same classroom again this year and they have Mrs. Bowers as a Teacher. She actually requested that Alex be in her class when Mrs. Polasek (his special ed teacher) was placing him last spring. I was thrilled! I think that the boys are going to have a great year. They each have a lot of friends in the class and so far the kids have been SUPER helpful in not only assisting Alex, but working with him when they have to pair up as well. I love that!

The Sloan Museum in Flint had a new Clifford exhibit opening, so Rachel and I and our kids went to the preview night for members. Even though the kids are a bit old for Clifford, they all still had a lot of fun!

September was a hot month toward the middle - hotter than both July and August. So we went to the park one weekend and then on the 23rd was Septemberfest in downtown Ortonville. We go every year. There are free activities for the kids, food and local vendors and even a car show. We love going, but this year was 92 degrees!! It was a bit hot, but we still managed to have a good time.

On September 30th, Wojos Greenhouse had a Fall Family Fun Day and I took the boys. They had animals, ice cream a scavenger hunt and we even got small pumpkins to paint! It was a really fun day and I am glad we went.

Fall is here - even if it doesn't feel like it!
