Our Georgia Trip

You know it is a busy summer when I can't keep up with my blog posts! After school got out in June, time has been flying by and I am way behind, but I promise to catch up sooner or later.

On June 18, 2014, The boys and I hit the road and headed to Georgia to visit our family and have a little vacation. We were there 18 days total and we had the time of our lives. Eric was able to join us for 10 days as well. It was a great trip for the boys. They got to spend a lot of time with their cousins and explore the waterfalls, rivers and mountains of Northern Georgia.

The weather was hot and humid, so we spent four days at the rivers while we were down there. I hiked the Tallulha Falls Gorge with my sister in law, we visited Black Rock State Park, did a day trip to Gatlinburg, TN and drove through The Great Smoky Mountains. We visited five waterfalls, did some shopping and even took the boys to their first movie theatre movie. We went to a place called Goats on the Roof - where there are really Goats on a Roof, we saw the 4th of July parade and fireworks too. The trip was crazy, busy and amazing. We had a wonderful trip and made countless memories. I wish I could share the hundreds of pictures I have because they are all beautiful and unique in their own way, but I can't so I will share some of my favorites.

Well that is our trip. I hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as we enjoyed the experience.

**One thing I don't have a photo of is the moment I almost tipped my sister in law's truck over in a ditch. I have to note this moment because it was so funny - but you had to be there. I was on a side street turning around, backed up too far, the back end got in the ditch and the truck began to tip. I screamed, hit the gas, squealed the tires and flew out of the ditch. All my sister in law Tappatha said in the most serious voice was "Nice recovery" then we busted out laughing.**

4

Happy 4th Birthday Alex and Evan!!!!

You have changed our life in ways we never thought possible. Watching you grow, change, explore and become who you are is so amazing.  It has been such a blessing to have not only two sons, but twin sons. Time is going fast so we are trying to enjoy every moment we have with you before the time is gone. We have so many wonderful memories already in these four years. Thank you for making us a family and for making our life complete. We love you very much!

Today was a fun filled birthday. I took the boys to Chuck E. Cheese and we met up with their friends Blake and Casey. Tonight we took them to dinner at Rainforest Café and they had a ball. I can't believe they are 4!

On Friday July 18, 2014 Alex and Evan's Grandparents came over to celebrate with them. We got a cake and they opened some presents. Here are the photos from that.

Photo Friday

Alex began horse back riding last September at Banbury Cross TEC. It was a little rough at first. He would cry and sometimes be irritable if he didn't get a nap. What a difference 9 months has made!! He loves riding and has improved his posture so much. He sits up very nicely and will even hold the reigns for a short time. He is getting stronger and stronger. We are very fortunate to be part of such an amazing program. Here are some pictures of him riding outside last week.

Preschool Graduation(s)

My babies have both graduated from preschool! They are off to Pre-K next year and I just cannot believe it. This year of preschool was amazing for both of them. They were in different classes, but both grew so much and learned a lot from their wonderful teachers. They made new friends and had a lot of fun. We went on four field trips between the two classes and I was able to volunteer my time for class parties which I loved! I couldn't be more proud of my boys. They are amazing little men.

Evan had a picnic at the park with his class last Friday.

Welcome to Summer (Unofficially)

Today is the beginning of a busy but fun summer for us. School is winding down for the boys. Evan will be done on Thursday and Alex goes through next Wednesday. Both will get to celebrate with their friends at the park in town with end of the year picnics.

We celebrated my Nephew's 1st birthday yesterday and will celebrate my Mom's and Father in Law's  in the coming weeks along with Father's Day. After that, we will embark on our three week trip down to Georgia to visit our family. I am really looking forward to this trip. Eric will be joining us on our last week down there so it should be really nice.

By the time we get home, it will be July already. I will be home 6 days before I head up north with my girlfriends for our annual "Girls Weekend" trip. That is always a nice weekend to look forward too. It is nice and relaxing but weird too because I don't  know what to do with myself with no one to wait on! I get to do whatever I want!!! The girls I go with, I have known since we were in first grade - which makes it even more memorable! We never run out of things to talk about.

Alex and Evan will turn 4 on July 16th and we have opted to not do a party this year. We already have so much going on leading up to their birthday that I didn't think I would have the time to properly plan anything, plus it is always so much work. We decided we would rather take the money we would spend on the party and do something fun with the boys. Probably a water park or hotel stay of some sort since that is what they enjoy doing.

Once that is over, our summer is open as of now. I am sure more things will come up as we go, but as of now it is filled with fun times!!!

We had a very long winter here this year, so we are welcoming summer with open arms. The fact that it doesn't ever last long enough makes us take advantage and appreciate it even more. Summer isn't officially here for another 20 days, but June 1st is always a good place to start. We are kicking off our summer today by going to the beach with friends!!!

Happy Summer!!! Let's enjoy every moment!!!
